Dear Parents,
I’d like to introduce myself as your’s school’s classroom teacher and to welcome you and your child to a new school year. My name is Mrs. Prescott. Mrs. Gulla and Mrs.Cooper will be the classroom assistants. Many exciting learning experiences have been planned and I am looking forward to a productive and rewarding school year.
I believe communication between home and school is very important. Therefore, I welcome your input and feedback, and encourage you to communicate via our blue communication binder or by email. I will do my best to return all messages as promptly as possible. Please be sure to review the binder each day and to sign and return the daily communication sheet the following day.
I would also like to invite you to become part of your child’s learning experiences. In addition to reinforcing skills taught at school and discussing daily activities and events, I would like to invite volunteers to come to school to be a guest reader or share a special skill or project.
Please let me know if you would like to join us.
I hope the following information and suggestions will be helpful:
We will have snack daily at 9:30 am. Snacks should consist of healthy choices such as fruit, vegetables, yogurt, cheese, pretzels, popcorn, etc. Please don’t send products listing sugar as the first ingredient. Please use these same guidelines for daily lunch as well.
Please watch your Communication Binders daily for Homework and ways you can supplement skills at home.
Pictures are a great way to start conversation. You can email me pictures from any weekend events and I will print them so the students can share them with their classmates.
Every day is show and tell day. Anything your children want to share at school is always ok.
Your child can be transported on his assigned bus only. If you plan to pick up your child at school, please send a note. Should you have any questions or concern, please do not hesitate or contact me at aprescott@roxbury.org.
